While we wait for the Xbox Series X and Series S to arrive, we already have some new software to play with when they do.

The Apple TV app is now available for both consoles as well as Xbox One – and all of its variants – thanks to Microsoft and Apple.

We’ve been waiting for Microsoft to release the Apple TV app since it was announced last month. It’s finally here, and it performs almost exactly as we would expect. It’s also not the only app, as Microsoft wants to ensure that gamers have access to all of their content regardless of which streaming service they use.

There’s so much more available on the Apple TV app. You can also subscribe to channels like Showtime, CBS All Access and AMC+. You can browse to buy or rent more than 100,000 movies and shows, with access to your library of previous movie and TV show purchases from Apple. You can watch online, ad-free and on demand through the app. In addition, Family Sharing lets six family members share subscriptions to Apple TV channels using their personal Apple ID and password.

Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 will also get the same app, but it won’t arrive for a few days. Players can watch their iTunes library of movies and TV shows, as well as Apple TV+ content when it does.
