CALIFORNIA’S CUPERTINO Apple stated today that the number of suppliers committed to utilising 100 percent renewable energy has more than doubled in the last year, accelerating progress toward the company’s ambitious 2030 target of being carbon neutral across its supply chain and products.
In total, 175 Apple suppliers will switch to renewable energy, bringing more than 9 gigawatts of clean energy online around the world. Roughly 18 million metric tonnes of CO2e will be avoided annually as a result of these initiatives, the equivalent of removing over 4 million cars from the road.
