WhatsApp is introducing disappearing messages, but not in the same way that Telegram does.
In contrast to WhatsApp, Telegram allows users to choose how long they want their messages to remain active for, ranging from one day to a week.
This means no wiggle room, which is a deal breaker for a lot of people.
According to the company, “Our goal is to make conversations on WhatsApp feel as if they were in-person, which means they shouldn’t have to stick around forever.” As a result, we’re eagerly awaiting the introduction of disappearing messages on WhatsApp. ”
“We’re starting with 7 days because we think that it offers peace of mind that conversations aren’t permanent, while remaining practical so you don’t forget what you were chatting about,”
WhatsApp wrote in a blog post.
