Permanent registration certificates for doctors and dentists have been issued by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) without the need for the recipients to take the National Licensing Examination (NLE).
Additionally, the PMDC has released an online Licensing Portal that is both interactive and user-friendly, simplifying the registration process.

A total of 1,500 diplomas were handed out on the first day.
Over 10,000 local graduates are currently in limbo while they wait for permanent registration, which is why the PMDC also issues certificates of good standing and renews existing ones.
Dr. Suleman Ahmed, registrar of the PMDC, has stated that measures have been taken to ensure the trustworthiness of the portal and the security of data storage.
He added that the council has set up a safe method of collecting application fees and a system to keep tabs on all the submissions.
In order to gain full registration, the PMDC has introduced the National Registration Examination for international graduates.
Both theoretical and practical aspects of the examination will be administered. Dr. Suleman emphasised that the PMDC is receptive to ideas and concerns from the medical community.
