By the end of the month, a high-level Sri Lankan trade delegation led by Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardhana will visit Pakistan to investigate commercial potential in that nation.
Speaking with Dawn on his return from Colombo, the Chairman of the RCCI’s 33rd International Achievements Awards and Business Opportunities Conference said that Pakistan’s business community is growing.
Sohail Altaf, RCCI group leader, together with RCCI president Ch. Nadeem Rauf and chairman Mr. Usman Shaukat, led an over 100-member Pakistani business delegation.
A total of nine MoUs were signed between Pakistan and Sri Lanka’s prominent commercial entities in sectors of education, pharmaceuticals, cars, and information and technology.
Trade and investment prospects in many areas were discussed during the conference in order to fulfil the common goals of the two countries.
Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana, Sri Lanka’s Minister of Trade, presided at the opening of the Business Opportunities Conference. The Pakistan High Commission Sri Lanka Commercial Counselor Ms. Asmma Kamal and Mr. Ajith Perera from FCCISL gave presentations on Sri Lankan investment potential.
