MDCAT 2022 will be held in mid-November, according to PMC. Additionally, it has been announced that MDCAT will take place in each province on the same day. A message published on PMC’s official social media pages reads as follows: “Dr. Azra Pechuho, Sindh’s Minister for Health, met with President PMC Dr. Noshad A. Shaikh. The health minister recognised MDCAT being administered provincially in a single day and appreciated PMC’s performance. Additionally, it was suggested that MDCAT be held in the middle of November.”
Prior to that, the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT 2022) was officially ordered by the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) to be held in Punjab for the academic years 2022–2023 by the University of Health Sciences. After receiving formal approval from the Punjab Government, UHS will hold the entry test.
After a three-year break, the UHS is now administering the test. It is important to note that PMC has asked UHS to begin making the necessary arrangements so that the MDCAT can be held in November. Prior to this, PMC conducted the MDCAT on a national scale. However, in light of the most recent development, the test will now be administered by the respective provincial universities in accordance with custom.
It is also important to note that the PMC has altered the requirements for admission to the MBBS and BDS programmes at the nation’s public and private medical and dental colleges, as well as the MDCAT pass rate.
The MDCAT Pass Percentage for MBBS Admission has been set at 55% under the new regulations, and students who achieve a minimum MDCAT score of 45% are eligible to apply for BDS programmes at both Government and Private Dental Colleges nationwide.
